Health secretary visits Southall

Posted by James Gates on May 29, 09 01:29 PM in Health

HEALTH Secretary Alan Johnson MP, Labour's Health Secretary, visited a surgery in Southall earlier this week.

Mr Johnson, joined Southall MP Virendra Sharma and Ealing Labour group leader Julian Bell, visited the Somerset Family Practice in Somerset Road, Southall on Wednesday.

Mr Johnson, joined by Southall councillors, met patients and doctors and spoke about Government's health policies.

Mr Johnson said: "Nearly three quarters of GP practices now offer extended opening hours, compared to just 12 per cent last April.

"That means that it's now easier for hard-working families, here and across the country, to see their doctor at a time convenient to them."
