Southall Charity Drive

Posted by James Gates on Dec 16, 08 05:14 PM in Good Causes

A charity drive to help those in need in the run-up to Christmas is being planned by
Southall holy man Guruji Singh.

Mr Singh, who does regular charity work in Southall, is appealing for people to donate warm clothing and blankets to help the less fortunate make it through the winter.

He is also appealing for volunteers to help run a credit crunch helpline, which will provide assistance for people hit by money troubles.

Mr Singh, who leads the Kali Mata Mandir charity, said: "We want to do something good in Southall, something good in humanitarian terms which will help people of all kinds in the area.

"Warm clothing and quilts are the things which are hardest to get hold of for some people so we are appealing for anything which can be donated."

Mr Singh is also planning a barefoot charity walk across Southall early next year, as well as schemes to send people home safely to India and to provide healing for physical pain and symptoms of depression in return for donations.

A statement on the charity's website reads: "Our mission is to end homelessness and suffering."

If you wish to make a donation or help in any way you can call Kali Mata Mandir on 0208 848 1412 or 07990 770 619.

You can also make donations by paying online via www.kalimata.co.uk or emailing guruji@kalimata.co.uk.

We'd like to hear from you.
