Organisation Reaches Out

The Adfam organisation is reaching out to grandparents in Southall who are bringing up their grandhchildren because the birth parents are drug users.

Family Changes is a London-wide scheme which aims to raise awareness of grandparents' feelings of isolation, shame and loss and promote best practice in delivering responsive and appropriate support for carers.

Adfam is also working to ensure that grandparents can be signposted to appropriate, up to date, specialist help, including advocacy and advice for those taking on parental responsibilities.
