Southall Nurse Given Caution Order

A Southall Nurse has been handed a three-year supervision order after failing to disclose a previous conviction while applying for a job.

John Alexander Kenneth Warwick, a 43-year-old registered nurse, is charged with failing to disclose endangering the welfare of a child in the USA in 1993, for which he was sentenced to a probation order of 1 year.

A charity drive to help those in need in the run-up to Christmas is being planned by
Southall holy man Guruji Singh.

Mr Singh, who does regular charity work in Southall, is appealing for people to donate warm clothing and blankets to help the less fortunate make it through the winter.

New Medical Centre For Southall

A new medical centre has opened in Southall and is ready for patients to register with its GPS.

The centre, at the site of a former pub in Lady Margaret Road, is able to look after 5,000 people and is also a training registrar practice for GPs, making it the only centre of its kind in the area.


Southall Cleaner Loses Tribunal

AN airport cleaner from Southall who was arrested and sacked from her job for stealing items worth less than one pound has lost her claim for unfair dismissal.

Sukhwinder Ghedu, of Northcote Avenue, took her former employers to a tribunal after she was fired for taking two baby wipes, a bottle of water, a pair of child's sunglasses and a cheap McDonald's toy which she collected while vacuuming a plane.

The Adfam organisation is reaching out to grandparents in Southall who are bringing up their grandhchildren because the birth parents are drug users.

Family Changes is a London-wide scheme which aims to raise awareness of grandparents' feelings of isolation, shame and loss and promote best practice in delivering responsive and appropriate support for carers.
