Day Centre Celebrations

More than 350 people turned up to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Southall Day Centre last week.

The centre in Shackleton Road was bustling with activity last Wednesday (September 24) as staff, visitors and families celebrated throughout the day.

Santosh Kanwar, centre manager, said: "Southall Day Centre provides an incredibly important service to more than 2,000 members of the community, some of whom are particularly vulnerable.

"We're extremely proud to be celebrating 30 years of success today Ð and we look forward to a bright future ahead of us."

Prince Charles attended the original opening of the centre back in 1978, and Princess Diana visited the refurbished centre back in 1991.
